Twinkle B
Our second twinkle is a combination of staccato notes and one legato note. I like to use the word “marshmallow” to explain the rhythm to the children. We can also use “ice cream cone.”
All the twinkles are on the same notes and use the same fingering, it is just the rhythm that is changed. It is important that the child uses the correct rhythms on each twinkle. The common mistake on Twinkle B is even toned three-note succession: Short Short Short. Rather, it is Short Long Short.
