Twinkle A

The reason we start with highly percussive music is to teach rhythm. Rhythm is the beat! We use “Pepperoni Pizza” as an example of how to approach this rhythm. Other phrases we can use are:

“Maya is a good girl”

“Peter is a good boy”

The rhythm is four short notes followed by two longer notes. “Short, short, short, short, Long Long….” However, all six notes are staccato – the “long” is in reference to the beat, not the tone.
